This device has been just announced by German 1&1 internet provider. SmartPad is a tablet computer running on Google Android 1.6. But it is known that the version of operating system will be updated to Android 2.2 in September. This device features 600 MHz ARM11 processor, 256 MB RAM, 1 GB ROM, 7 inch touch screen, SD external memory card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0 port. As many other tablets this one has no access to Android Market. Nevertheless future owners of this device will have an opportunity to download apps from 1&1 online store. SmartPad Android tablet will be available in July.
