Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

Recently Canonical Ltd released new version of its popular open source Debian-derived Linux operating system. According to developers Ubuntu 10.04 LTS features extensive design work, faster boot speed, social network integration. New version of Ubuntu has Me Menu that provides quick access to popular social networks services and aggregates some instant messengers’ accounts including Google Talk, MSN, IRC and etc. Due to Ubuntu One service support this OS provides an opportunity to store files in the global network. Available storage is 2 GB, but it can be extended to 50 GB for $10 per month. Ubuntu 10.04 LTS users will also have access to Ubuntu One Music Store and Ubuntu Software Centre 2.0 services. Together with desktop version of its OS Canonical Ltd also released special version for netbooks - Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Edition (UNE). Netbook users will see even faster boot speeds on SSD-based devices, faster suspend/resume that will extend battery life. New Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and Ubuntu 10.04 UNE has been already available for free download from official Ubuntu’s page.
