French Archos company has just officially announced its new mobile Internet device – Archos 5. One of the most remarkable features of this high-powered device is it operating system – Google Android OS. But set of technical characteristics is also very impressive. Archos 5 has 4.8 inch TFT touch screen with 480×800 px resolution and 16 million colors, TI OMAP3440 800 MHz CPU, microSD memory card slot, TV tuner and GPS module. As for connectivity this MID has Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, 3.5 mm audio jack. The Archos 5 Internet Tablet comes in two basic versions. The first has 8GB to 32GB of flash memory. The second has 160GB to 500GB of hard drive space. The list of supported file extensions includes MPEG-4 HD, MPEG-48, H.264 HD, M-JPEG, MPEG-2, WMV HD, VOB, MP3, WMA, WAV (PCM/ADPCM), AAC9, AAC+, Flac and OGG Vorbis. Archos 5 Internet Tablet will become available by the end of this month and will cost $250 to $430 depending on version.
