Velocity Micro company unveiled some specifications and features of its coming budget class tablet. It is expected that it will be launched in August and will cost about $200. Cruz Reader is powered by Google’s Android 2.1 operating system and is equipped with 7 inch touchscreen with 800×600px resolution, 256 MB RAM, 256 MB internal storage, SD memory card slot, Wi-Fi, accelerometer. The battery of this mobile device will provide about 10 hour of work time. As many other devices of such class it has no access to Android Market. To make up this deficiency Velocity Micro will launch its own apps store – Cruz Market. Together with the Cruz Reader the company will also release Cruz Tablet that will have better processor, more built-in storage and will cost $300.

ezGear company unveiled its coming tablet computer. ezGear SurfBoard 700 runs on Google Android 2.1 operating system is based on RockChip RK2818 chipset. Other specifications of this mobile device include 7 inch touchscreen with WVGA (800×480px) resolution, 8 GB internal storage, two 2Mp cameras both frontal and backside, MicroSD external memory card slot (up to 32 GB), Wi-Fi, HDMI output, USB 2.0 port, stereo loudspeakers, trackball, 3.5mm headphones jack. The battery provides about 9 hour of work time or 20 hour of music playback. It is notable that in contrast to other tablets this one has an access to Android Market. But it is known that the version of operating system will be updated to Android 2.2 in September. Another feature of this eco-friendly device is impressive work time – the battery of this phone provides 12 hours of talk time in GSM networks and 5 hours of talk time in 3G ones. The release of Sony Ericsson Cedar will take place in next few weeks.

Samsung has just announced its new smartphone. Samsung i5500 Corby Smartphone. Next week it will become available in Italy for EUR200. In other countries in will be release some weeks later. Today together with C1 and C2 budget phones Nokia also announced new eco-friendly charging device. Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit bicycle dynamo comes with handlebar mount, dynamo, and 2-mm charger jack(it can be replaced with any other adapter). According to Nokia a 10 minute bike ride at 10kph will provide about 30 minutes of talk time of 35 hour of idle. The gadget is expected to become available by the end of this year. The price of Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit is only €15.

During SID 2010 exhibition Samsung demonstrated its new promising device. The main feature of 18 inch TFT display is that it’s USB powered. No need of AC/DC power source, just plug it into two USB ports and you’re good to go. The display consumes only 6.3W. It is also known that this low power display has LED backlight and 1366х768px resolution. It is expected that this device will become available in the beginning of 2011.

The weight of this tablet is about 800g. MSI WindPad 100 will become available in next few months and will cost about $500.

In contrast to WindPad 100 this device runs on Google Android 2.1 operating system and is based on Nvidia Tegra 2 platform. In other respects these device has much in common. MSI WindPad 110 also has 10 inch multi-touch capable display, two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MicroSD external memory card slot. The price will be about $400.

Fring has just released new version of its app for Android device. The main feature if new Fring is two-way video calls support. So far this feature was available only for Symbian and iPhone OS. Now it comes to Android. It is clear that this function works better with high-performing CPUs. So, new Fring will work with not all smartphones. New upgraded version of Fring app has been already available via Android Market and on official Fring’s website.

Dell has just officially announced its new device. Dell Streak is a hybrid of smartphone and tablet computer. It is powered by Google’s Android 1.6 operating system that will be soon upgraded to 2.2 version. It is notable that in contrast to Android tablets this device has access to Android Market. Another remarkable feature is quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and WCDMA/HSPA 850/1900/2100 MHz networks support.
